SIR JAM!

October 1st, 2008

Many thanks to Bérengère and Reebok! By the way, there’s a Sir Jam exhibition taking place at the Citadium store in Paris now. Reebok asked eight young and talented photographers to shoot the shoe the way they felt like. Should be interesting. It’s on the ground floor until next thursday. The opening was tonight (tuesday) and our good friend Gero was taking care of the atmosphere!

PICNIC

September 21st, 2008

My friend Adrián (with whom I did that toy exhibition about a year ago - check it out here) just openned a bar located downtown Madrid (C/ Minas nº1). It’s called Picnic and there are big plans for the place, such as art exhibitions (more on this later I’m sure…) and unplugged shows in the basement! All the best for this great project!

NEKO - MODUS VIVENDI @ LA SANTA - MADRID

September 21st, 2008

Wherever you are in Madrid, you end up seeing a huge throw up by Neko! His presence is undeniable: you just have to open your eyes and look above. Actually, it’s all over: on sidewalks, on windows, on buses… fuck, his name even was on the door of my first appartment! But Neko doesn’t limit himself to writing his name. His approach to art is much more complex than one would think. The man has a vision, a raw and straight in your face vision of how graffiti and urban art can improve the city. He believes in the principles and values he learnt from the streets and will simply never sell out: he’s on a mission.

Neko recently openned a great bookstore/gallery, La Santa, located right downtown in Madrid. I had the pleasure to have a look at his new exhibition he created inside the store: Modus Vivendi. The thematic is obvious: raw shit, or how to destroy private property. Enjoy, I’ll try to soon post pictures of his work in the streets.

REDBULL X-FIGHTERS 2008 - MADRID

July 26th, 2008

I was invited last week to the Redbull X-Fighers event which took place in the impressive Plaza de Toros de las Ventas of Madrid. Expect huge freestyle motocross, with some of the best international riders! 23,000 people made it to the arena and it was a really cool show. One of the french rider broke his ankle when he landed so bad I thought he just broke his neck… 1st place: Mat Rebeaud (Switzerland).
