BARCELONA - LIMITEDITIONS X A.R.C. DINNER

While in Barcelona, Guillotine was invited (last wednesday) to a great dinner organized by limitEDitions, A.R.C. and Adidas Originals.

The event took place in one of Spain best restaurants, Tore d’Alta Mar, a 75 meter over the sea platform, with some of the best views over the city of Barcelona. Street Culture big thinkers/makers all gathered in a restaurant is something pretty impressive! How often do you see Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Vans, Asics and Lacoste under the same roof, speaking about the furure of the industry while sharing great Mediterranean cuisine?

Some of the lucky invited ones were: Opium, SlamJam, Stüssy, Gimme 5, Nike (nice to see you again Julien!), Jeff Staple, Crooked Tongues, Adidas, Nice Kicks, David of Highsnobiety, Remix and Sneakers Mag (Italia), Suelas de Goma and Zapapedia (Spain), Sneaker Freaker Spain, A.R.C., Alife Distribution (Whattup Pierre!), Kangol, Gary and Wally from Patta, Concrete, Caliroots, Fred Perry, Goodfoot, Sneakernstuff, Wood Wood, Foot Patrol, Hanon Shop, Starcow, limitEDitions, Leah, Erin and Joanne from M.O.B., Vans, Reebok, Asics, Lacoste, Salomon… Impressive right?

Many thanks to Ricky (limitEDeditions, Chikashitsu and Opium Barcelona/Black is Beauty) for taking care of everything, we’ll remember this for a long time! We loved meeting and speaking to all of you guys! This should take place more often…

IDENTITY

Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada´s urban charcoal murals are very famous in Madrid. As part of his Identity Series, the artist creates huge murals using people from the neighborhood as models. This one’s not the biggest portrait he did, some are so big, but for some reason I love the expression on the girl’s face. It’s sad that in a few months only, shitty condos will hide the mural. NIKE WORLD HEADQUARTERS - BEAVERTON, OR

I spent some time last Friday at Nike’s Campus in Beaverton, OR, located 20mn West of Portland. Around 5,000 employees work there and you get the feeling you are inside some US University, with a man made lake and fabulous sport facilities. An incredible visit thanks to my man Julien Cahn!
