Mark “Huck” Gee s’installa à San Francisco au début des années 90. Il commença par y trouver des jobs qui lui permirent de développer ses talents de graphiste. Il passait ses nuits à s’entraîner à la pratique et les week-ends à chercher de l’inspiration. Graphic design le jour, graffiti la nuit, tout en étudiant l’art samouraï de Miyamoto Musashi les week ends. En développant ses talents d’illustrateur, il a commencé à explorer un style d’art plus commercial et à s’intéresser au monde très attirant du Pop Art japonais.
Huck a récemment sorti une flopée de toys chez Kidrobot comme les figurines pour DJ QBert et une série pour Barney’s New York habillée des collections Printemps 2005 de créateurs de mode comme Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Rick Owens, et Duckie Brown.
Cette année sera très chargée pour l’artiste avec des expositions prévues dans le monde entier, et des nouveaux toys pour des compagnies comme Kidrobot, QBert, ToyQube, Toy2R, Circus Punks et Play Imaginative. En plus de cela, Huck crée aussi des customs très recherchés par les collectionneurs…

Mark “Huck” Gee moved to San Francisco in the early 90’s pursuing the venerable life of a b-boy. Maintaining day jobs that expanded his artistic vocabulary; he spent his nights testing his skills, and his weekends searching for inspiration. Graphic design by day, graffiti by night, studying Miyamoto Musashi on the weekends. He later culled his skills as an illustrator, allowing him to explore more commercial art styles and delve into the alluring world of Japanese pop art.
Huck recently released several toys through Kidrobot including figures for DJ Qbert and a series of figures for Barney’s New York which come immaculately dressed in the 2005 spring collections of five of the world’s most famous fashion designers: Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Rick Owens, and Duckie Brown.
The coming year brings a full schedule as he plans gallery shows worldwide and continues to create toys for several designer toy companies including numerous new designs for Kidrobot, Qbert, ToyQube, Toy2R, Circus Punks, and Play Imaginative. Along with his production toys, Huck also creates original hand crafted custom toys that are sold to art collectors worldwide…
