ERIC BELTZ – « HISTROY » – L.A.

The self-proclaimed “High Definition Drawing” of Eric Beltz is currently on view in his exhibit, Histroy!, at Acuna Hansen located in LA’s Chinatown gallery district. Reminiscent of Colonial America, botanical drawings of the Audubon Society, death imagery, and a peculiar assemblage of quotations, Beltz’s work is part black humor, part historical commentary. While the artist’s message is somewhat confounding, one thing is certain – his graphite illustrations and text styles reveal the impeccable rendering skills of an artist on the rise.

If you like what you see, now is the time. In the coming year, Beltz’s art will be on view in the traveling exhibition, The Old Weird America, at the Houston Contemporary Arts Museum. (thanks to Jeff of At Arms Ltd. for texts and pictures)
